Drama Club (grades 5-7)

To participate in the drama production students must audition. We ask for a commitment for all rehearsals, including Saturday rehearsal and all production times. There are two performances in the Spring. Students learn to collaborate and work as an ensemble. There will be an informational meeting in the fall and rehearsals generally begin after Thanksgiving. Rehearsals are every Wednesday unless otherwise noted and may increase as the production date draws near.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in official Honor Society activities.

Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

NY Road Runners ‘Mighty Milers’

STEM ~ Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is one of the premier science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to 7,800 teams in all 50 states. Students in middle school meet the challenge and demands of building machines/robots, performing experiments, and competing against hundreds of other students across the five boroughs and NY state.

Yearbook Club

Yearbook is a great way for eighth graders to make new friends, express themselves creatively, and leave a lasting impression on their Yearbook. Students are given the opportunity to design a yearbook spread that they can work at our weekly meetings. In addition to designing pages, throughout the course of the year students also help out with various other yearbook-related tasks, including photography and writing.
