A co-ed Catholic Academy serving Nursery through Grade 8.
The Middle School Program follows the guidelines and standards set forth by the New York State Department of Education for Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science. Active learning provides students with the opportunity to explore the curriculum and to deepen their understanding of curriculum content.
The Religion program is taught by our teachers, as well as, our Parish priests who supplement the curriculum by preparing the students for Confirmation. Class discussions and projects are designed to foster self-respect, empathy, commitment and compassion. Important decisions, events and social changes are examined in a context of social responsibility.
The Honors Math program will enable students in grades 7 & 8 to be grouped homogeneously for math. Curricular initiatives of introducing Algebra I with the Earth Science course will address ways to provide thoughtful inclusion of skills that focus on ensuring that students have the foundation and discipline to competently and independently approach studies to apply what they have learned.
As the students advance, assignments and assessments challenge them to use information in novel ways and to think compassionately, flexibly and critically. It is our hope that students leave Middle School with a deep understanding of their gifts and their limitations, respect for intellectual pursuits, and a clear sense of their responsibility to each other and the greater community.
