With #GivingTuesday just one week away, we hope you include Our Lady of Hope Catholic Academy in your #GivingTuesday plans!
As a school we are proud of our collective response to what has been an unconventional year. Our strong community bonds have enabled us to come together, to face every challenge and to rise as one.
We have managed to keep the doors of our school open for our students, and harnessed our optimistic spirit of resilience and #hope that exemplifies our school community. In order to provide our students every opportunity to continue their education during the pandemic, we stepped up spending on health and safety procedures. We are so proud of what we have achieved.
However, now our budgets are tight. Mandatory COVID testing measures introduced by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are costing our school $5200 per week, costs that are additional to all the other pandemic related expenses our school has incurred.
Many of our usual fundraising events have had to be cancelled, and this has had a seriously negative impact our income and resources. As we anticipate the academic year ahead, we are determined to support our students and their families. To accomplish this task we require more resources than usual as the need to support our students is greater than ever. In these difficult financial times we count on you.
Tuition fees only cover 67% of the cost of a child’s education at Our Lady of Hope, but we are committed to keeping our fees low so that as many children as possible can receive a Catholic education. The real cost of educating a student at our school is $6800 per year, yet our fees are $4600 per child per year.
If you have never given to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Academy – now is a perfect time.
We are grateful to those who have already contributed and invite others to join. Every gift helps every student to thrive at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Academy. To make a donation, open the link below and click on the GivingTuesday box on our school’s donation page.
Enjoy your weekend!
